Current Report: River level 12.32
Sorry folks for being gone awile, now I'm back and fishing! This morning the Smith River level started at 11.60, and rose almost a foot by noon. Today I fished Jim Sanborn and Jake Gibson. We dirfted from the Forks to the Outhouse. Sidedrifting,we hooked a bunch of 1/2 lb. steelhead, as well as hooking two adult steelhead, landing one and losing one. We were done at noon. When we got to our takeout, our local fish counter Becky was at the bank fishing. She hooked a steelhead and the fight was on! This fish wrapped her line around a rock and she was in a bind. So I picked her up in the drift boat and she fought that fish for 15-20 minutes! Becky landed that steelhead and it weighed in at 19 1/2 lbs. She was a happy camper! She said that was the biggest steelhead she had ever caught! We saw another boat today with doubles! This was the first set of doubles that I've seen this season. Looks like steelhead season is going to be a great one! It's raining right now, so the fishing should be really good by Tuesday, Wednesday this week.
We are still taking bookings for steelhead season. I have the first weekend in January available. Our package deal includes: one night at the Hiouchi Motel, one breakfast at the Hiouchi Cafe, and one day of fishing on the Smith River for two people @ $360.00. Current Report: Smith River level 7.64
Hello fellow fisherman,
The Smith River opened today. We recieved enough rain in the last couple of days to open one day prior to the bait opener of November 1st. More rain is needed though to keep the level up and keep the river open. I have been down with the flu, so I was not able to get out today. I did get a report from a few different guides: there were a large number of fish seen in the river today, as well as some real hogs! There were fish caught. I'll be out there hopefully in a few days. It looks like it's going to be a great salmon and steelhead run this year on the Smith River!
Our package deal includes: one night at the Hiouchi Motel, one day of fishing, and one breakfast at the Hiouchi Cafe for $370.00 for two people. You can call 707-457-3194 or e-mail for your reservations.

Current Report: Hello!
We made it back from Alaska and had a blast! The fishing was great although we caught more numbers of King Salmon last year and larger fish. Our largest King Salmon this year was 55lbs., what a fight! The mighty Kenai River was up 2-3 feet from last season due to warmer weather and rain. As for our Halibut trip, we got blown off the water! We got one and one half miles from our fishing hole and had to turn around. The waves were coming over the top of our boat! Nobody could get out all week! The Sockeye Salmon was really happening this year on the Kenai River, and the Silver Salmon were just starting to come in when we left. All in all we had a great time in Alaska!
We are now taking bookings for Jet boat trips on the Klamath River, fishing for Fall Chinook Salmon. This season will run through October. You can call 707-457-3194 or e-mail for your reservations.

Current Report: Hello fellow fisherman!
I,m excited to tell you that I am having a new boat built. It is a 21 FT. jet boat by Fish-rite. It will be ready mid June! We'll kep you posted. We've been anxious to give you a report on the Spring Chinook Salmon in the Klamath River. They are starting to come into the river. I,ve been fishing the lower Klamath River for the last couple of weeks in search of the these fish, with no response until today. Yesterday was very windy with real rough ocean conditions. The Salmon don't move much under these conditions, so it was a pretty quiet day on the river except for the Sturgon that the Indians netted. It was about 5 feet long. They have been netting Sturgon for the last few weeks. Today I fished a single rod hooking 2 Salmon and landing 1 ! The Spring Chinook Salomon are here! I was off the water by 10 a.m. We are fishing in the drift boat which accomodates up to four fisherman.
We are taking reservations for the Spring Chinook Salmon on the lower Klamath River. There are many accomodations available including, but not limited to, Camper Coral in Klamath for r.v.'s, Motel Trees in Klamath, Hiouchi Motel in Hiouchi, and various motels in Crescent City. We can assist you. Please call 707-457-3194, or e-mail for your resevations. Thanks!
